KOI FĂ©nix has just found its latest duelist. Per Sheep Esports sources, a verbal agreement has been reached between Dawid âdemekâ Madrak and KOI FĂ©nix to join the team ahead of the upcoming stage of the VCL Spain: Rising.
The Polish player recently played for GoNext Esports and Szach Mat in the VCL NORTH//EAST. This year, demek and the rest of Szach Mat made it to the finals in Stage 1, losing in a close 2-3 to Team Liquid Academy. Heâs known for his Neon play and time on Polish teams like the aforementioned Szach Mat as well as Incognito.
A shifting team
Demek will be joining the team after the announced departure of Diogo âOLIZERAâ Oliveira, who played as the teamâs Sentinel. Demek is a Duelist main, conflicting with KOIâs current player, Zachary âZachKappaâ Neal, who is expected to stay despite tryouts with NAVI. Were ZachKappa to leave, demek wouldâve slotted in as Duelist anyway, but since heâs set to remain on the roster, ZachKappa is instead expected to play more of a Sentinel role on the team, as he's played before on rosters like Chipi Chapa. He'll be rotating positions with Antonio "Guardy" Guardiola, and the team is poised to flex the two players depending on maps and game-to-game strategy.
Demekâs addition to KOI FĂ©nix comes after the teamâs loss last month in the lower final of the VCL EMEA, a heartbreaker series for fans after disconnects and remakes. This year has been an overall positive one for KOI FĂ©nix, with a first-place finish in the VCL Spain: Rising Stage 2 earning KOIâs academy their first trophy. With the new addition of demek to their roster, KOI FĂ©nix is hoping to continue that success and further it in Spainâs Stage 3 and beyond.
